Skateboarding Alexandra Gardens Melbourne

  1. That's a great shot. I've cycled past there on numerous occasions, but haven't had the nerve to take any photos yet. Did you ask, or did you just shoot?

  2. Thanks Alan. I didn't ask as it was a busy day with lots of photographs being taken. No-one objected. It is an interesting issue. I am not comfortable publishing a photo in which an individual can be recognized unless they are in a public event e.g. a parade. I would be interested in other bloggers attitudes.

  3. I'm building up the courage to go there one day, pick out the dude or gal getting the biggest air and ask them if I can take a few shots.

Funny, I'm quite happy to put out candid street shots, although I'm only an amateur and not seeking to license my images for any commercial use. But you're right, it's a potentially thorny topic.

  4. I think it is okay (which may differ from 'permissable') to publish an image that the person has agreed to. Their 'image' is their possession, but your image is your possession.

But like this, is just great. The idea is to capture the action, not the person. And the over-exposure works a treat.
