Is Melbourne Experiencing An "Indian Summer"?

  2. So what does that mean 'Indian summer'? I know the expression: one that lasts longer than usual. But is it sub-continent Indian, or North American Indian?

    Alan - it was taken at Ormond Point in Elwood.
    Julie - I always thought of it as a phrase to describe Summer likecweather that extends into Autumn. According to Wikipedia (are they ever wrong) I think my usage is correct although it suggests it applies to the Northern Hemisphere - guess we don't count down here in the antipodes.
