Greville Street Prahran

Contributed to Mural Monday

This Mural was apparently painted by British Street Artist "Banksy".  The photograph was taken last year.  The Mural recently appeared on the news as it was damaged during renovations.

  4. Perth - agreed. It certainly colorful.
Red - I also liked the way the traffic sign suited the art.
Alan - it had been years since I had been to Greville Street. Looks like it's cleaned up quite a bit. It used to be more "alternative". it's verging on "trendy" now. Don't know Sr Edmonds. Must look out for it next time.

  7. This is so different from the other Banksey works I've seen. It's almost psychedelic! The character at the left looks like Disney zoot suiter, if there were such a thing. I always regret not being able to read the lettering. I'm sure many clues are hidden in there. If you get my comment it's a miracle since this local computer won't let me into my own blog. Grrr. But I do thank you for participating in this week's Monday Mural. Next week will be much more efficient on my side.

  8. It is so unusual for a Banksy! Good find.

  9. It totally doesn't look like Banksy's work. I love the Gangsta Dog character. Could it say Solstice above "some soul" and "tener soul shem" in the upper corner???

  10. Banksy only did the parachuting rat which is just out of picture - top left. The rat was destroyed in May 2012-ish by a cafe development in the shop. The rest of the wall was destroyed/interfered with by the cafe's side windows.

    Cheers.
