Hi V .. This is the pier that many immigrants to Australia would have first arrived at in the 1950's & 1960's to establish their home in our now wonderful multi cultural city ... Cheers J.
Two of my good friends did just that, though in the early 70s when most people were flying, but being carpenters they figured there was no point in arriving before their tools of the trade so they accompanied them on a ship. They are still there in Melbourne.
