Sailing Solo


Hi V ... Pictured above is Station Pier, Port Melbourne.  It was the first port of call for many immigrants to Melbourne.  Decades ago a doughnut van used to park on the very spot from where this photograph was taken and it was a weekend ritual of ours to park our cars here, buy some doughnuts and solve the problems of the world.   5. This is where some of my ancestors would have disembarked when they immigrated to Australia ... They were heading fo make their fortune on the
    Victorian gold-fields. I guess there was no doughnut van in those days.
