Hi V ... This is my attempt of a "fluffy water" shot down on Brighton Beach last night. I took a hint from one of Julie's posts a while back and used a low ISO with a long shutter speed in low light at dusk. Cheers J.
And a very nice result, Joe. I've just invested in a 10-stop ND filter, which should theoretically allow me to get some lovely long exposure, fluffy cloud and water daytime shots. Fingers crossed!

I agree with the others that this is a very gorgeous result, Joe. The pastels are so soft even if this was partially caused by the wind on your tripod. The other thing that I like are the 'lines' within the image.
Good stuff ... I must try some more. It is so easy in photography to think that just because we alter our content that we are progressing. Technique needs tweaking on a regular basis, too.
Thanks Julie. I agree and I appreciated your post on fluffy water. I have another idea buzzing around in my head at the moment about taking some dusk shots on a bridge above a road with a slow shutter speed to get the lights from the traffic to blur. So many ideas so little time.

ReplyDeleteHi Rae. Yes I did use a tripod. It was very windy and even with a tripod there was still a bit of shake.
