Dutch Orange Day 2012

Hi ... Today is Dutch Orange Day celebrated in Queensbridge Square Melbourne.  A time for everything Dutch.  There were clogs, tulips and an abundance of orange outfits.  Why do the Dutch wear orange?  Because it's the colour of the Dutch Royal Family dating back to Willem Van Oranje! Cheers J.

  1. That suit is quite a remarkable color. I wonder how often he wears it?

  2. I'd need a few drinks before I could wear that. Dutch courage?

  3. We were in Amsterdam on the Queen's Birthday about a decade ago (April 30th, I thought, but maybe it was the 29th). We were there to tour the city, and didn't realize it was a holiday, so we didn't know what we were in for. Streets and canals clogged with revelers wearing orange! Also had some disucssion about wearing orange on St. Patrick's Day this year because it was maybe an old tradition to wear orange if you were Protestant Irish? At least that was the discussion topic.
