Knights of Werribee

Hi ... This is one of the many etched glass windows at Werribee Mansion with a little embellishment.  The mansion was built by pastoralists Thomas and Andrew Chirnside between 1874 and 1877. Thomas was born in Berwickshire Scotland in 1815.  We are fortunate that they drew on such history when they constructed their mansion ... J.

  1. Like your capture of this one Joe. So fortunate that the history of the pastoralists was able to guide the construction and embellishments of the mansion. It's one place I have been wanting to visit for some time, but so far have not been able to get there.

  2. I remember your shot of the dome of Werribee Mansion with its gorgeous colors and design. The architecture is quite elegant. Much skill is required to etch glass as I discovered after working with a small square of glass!

  3. Hi J,

Well I"m sending congratulations on capturing this very difficult image. Stained glass of any kind is so very hard for me. Great image and it's just beautiful .
