Abbotsford Convent

Hi V .. This photograph was taken in the courtyard at Abbotsford Convent, just 4 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD.  It was formerly the Convent of the Good Shepherd, the most important Catholic institutional complex in Victoria.  It is situated on over 6.8 hectares of land including magnificent sweeping gardens leading down to the Yarra River.  Today it contains artists studios, creative spaces for writers and designers, function halls regularly used for weddings, a school, radio station, bakery, coffee house, cafes, restaurants.  A great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Cheers J.
