Melbourne 1998 - 1999 by Jan Senbergs

Hi V ... This stylized depiction of Melbourne hangs in the State Library.   It is an acrylic on canvas painted by Jan Senbergs.  It was a gift of the Gualtiero Vaccari Foundation in recognition of services provided by the State Library of Victoria to the Italian Community in 1999.  Ciao J. Shared with Mural Monday.

  1. Does one not call this a painting in stead of a mural. Coming here from monday murals.

  2. Such amazing detail in this! The use of subdued colors makes for an easy piece to study - not hard on the eyes.

  4. So much detail. I can't imagine painting that. (or any of them for that matter).

  6. It's fabulous Joe, when you pull it in closer you can see even more just how detailed it is.

  7. This stylized view also looks a little futuristic. All it needs is flying cars. Had no idea there were so many bridges in Melbourne. Great overview for those of us who have not yet visited. Thanks for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

  9. I love to look at artwork like this of dynamic cities... or even little stops like Portland.
