Pelican Moon Serenade

There is a place where pelicans sing
to the moon of peace and quiet light.
I found it once on a cloudless night
when air was chill and water still.
The notes sang true twixt rest to sleep
and then were lost with sun rays sweep.

Shared with Skywatch Friday.

  5. What an amazing capture Joe. Your photos are all terrific and I enjoyed looking through them. Your walks through the city must be such fun - only wish you and Mrs J had been on hand in Venice to take my photos.

  8. Hi there - that’s a splendid shot. Really like the way the pelican is not just cast as solid black.

  13. No way!! This is one of the most amazing SkyWatch photos (or any photos, come to that) I've ever seen! If I'm ever talented and fortunate enough to capture a photo HALF this magnificent, I will probably faint dead away from sheer delight and adrenaline. :-) The word "awesome" is overused in my opinion, but it sure applies to your photograph! And your perfectly lovely poem - icing on the cake! A phenomenal post, truly!
