Sorrento Back Beach

Hi V ... Colour me happy!  Melbourne has experienced a weekend of sunshine after much rain.  We made the most of it with a day trip along the Mornington Peninsula.  This photograph was taken on the ocean beach at Sorrento.  Sorrento is approximately a 105 kilometre drive around Port Phillip Bay.  A comfortable distance for a day trip and a rewarding one for fresh sea air. Sorrento has a calm bay beach great for families and rough ocean beach with many popular surfing spots .  Look out for Tuesday's post for some fascinating history about Sorrento and it's ocean beaches.  The photograph is courtesy of Mrs J.

  4. Lovely shot, Joe. Must have been quite brisk, though... That sun had teeth!

  5. It seems that while you were at Sorrento Back Beach I was at London Bridge Ocean Beach yesterday! It was definitely brisk, but at least some sun! Gorgeous rolling waves in this photo!

  7. Really lovely shot, Joe. The colours seem so real and understated, yet the image really jumps off the screen. I like how the fisherman contrasts with the rest of the scene, in splendid isolation.
