Byron Bay - Lighthouse Close

Hi V ... I hope you have enjoyed my spotlight on Byron Bay.  This photograph of the lighthouse at dusk seems appropriate to bring the series to a close.  As Melburnians we found Byron Bay a delight.  It is within easy reach.  Just one direct flight to Ballina taking around an hour and 45 minutes followed by a bus ride of about half an hour from the airport to Byron Bay.
The beaches are magnificent, pristine and squeaky clean. The landscape is inspiring with something new at every turn.  We were even spoilt with with wildlife; whales, dolphins and turtles in the ocean, a blue tongue lizard on our doorstep, an echidna on the pathway, a wallaby bounding through the rainforest and wait for it ... even a mountain goat on the cliffs!
There is no doubt Byron has its alternative side so if you're into massages, spas, crystals, aromatic candles and birthstones this is also the place for you.
Byron we will be back. Ciao J.
