William Shakespeare

Hi V ... Through a stained glass window William Shakespeare peers down upon those studying in Melbourne State Library. "If we shadows have offended, think but this, and all is mended, that you will have slumbered here while visions did appear" the opening of Puck's epilogue from a Midsummer NIght's Dream.

  1. Hi Joe,

What a marvellous window showing the genius of Shakespeare!

  2. Lovely window - but suggests they don't have complete confidence in what they are teaching!

  3. Is this a Victorian confection? Interesting that they show W.S. with worry lines and a vest that doesn't fit. New details to my conception of his image.

  4. Hope the students studying under this window do not slumber while visions appear. I've noticed that our university library is always full of slumbering students, but there may be some who are actually studying too.
