Remembrance Day Vigil

Hi V ... At 11am on 11 November 1918 entire nations cheered as the fighting of WWI ceased and the Armistice took effect.  One year later the first commemorations of this occasion took place.  King George V requested the people of the Empire observe two minutes silence at precisely 11 am.  This vigil evolved into the minute's silence of today's Remembrance Day services.  In Melbourne the vigil commenced and ended with the firing of a canon.  J.

  1. I didn't know that Joe, I wonder if two minutes was just that bit too long! I like the sepia treatment, fits the occasion perfectly.

  2. You gave me a good idea. Sepia helps to recreate past moments with present actors. Hugs.
