Woolamai Beach - Phillip Island

Hi V ... During our visit to Phillip Island a few weeks back the highlight was Woolamai Beach.  I asked these fishermen what they were hoping for and the collective answer was "Snapper".  I guess snapper has been caught here for hundreds of years.  "Woolamai" means "snapper fish" in the language of the Eora aboriginal people of Port Jackson. Ciao J.

  1. I do enjoy grilled snapper Joe :) Fishing looks like such a relaxing pastime, I just worry that I may actually catch something! Beautiful shot.

  2. My Dad used to fish for snapper and it's still one of my favourite meals ....... pan-fried in butter with chilli and lime.
    What a beautiful pristine beach.
