Kanes Bridge Yarra Bend

Hi V ... This is Kanes Bridge, a single span pedestrian suspension bridge.  The original bridge was built in 1928 but was washed downstream during floods in 1934.  The present bridge resembles the earlier bridge which crossed from the Yarra Bend Asylum to Kew further upstream.  Cheers J.

  1. Fine looking pedestrian suspension bridge. Is the Yarra Bend Asylum the origin of the phrase, "He's gone around the bend."?

  2. «Louis» thanks you for your visit to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo. He invites you to link this (or any other bridges you have photos of) to his "Sunday Bridges" meme. It opens at 22h00m central Europe time each Saturday. Jim from Sydney and Nick from Melbourne contribute regularly and you would be most welcome as well!
