SWANSTON AND A'BECKETT STREETS

There is perhaps no better example of the contrast between old and new architecture in Melbourne than on the corner of Swanston Street and A'Beckett Street.  I wonder if the builders of the hotel in 1887 ever imagined what would be built behind it some 120 years later? Cheers J.

  1. No way Joe, not in 120 years would they have guessed :) Was this building the inspiration for yesterdays abstract?

  2. Wow! I am not so sure about how I feel about it. Great shot to compare old and new.

  3. Great contrast between the old and the new, Joe. I initially disliked this new RMIT building, but it has grown on me.
