There is something about trams... what a gorgeous one that is. But even modern ones such as you find in Amsterdam and Bordeaux do it for me. Nice shot.
I boarded one for the first and only time in April when my brother was over. It was raining buckets, there was no recorded commentary (which had been told to expect) and we couldn't get a seat for all the "locals" using it to get a free ride from A to B in the city. Needless to say, it's not my fondest memory of Melbourne. They look pretty though!
Thanks so much for all your comments. No need to worry though .... the tram was stationary and I was walking across a pedestrian crossing while the lights were on green. Perhaps the title should have been "City Circle - for Tourists or Commuters?"
Oh how I wish Sydney still had this sort of tram ... looks like we will go with more lite-rail which is okay but I want them to use the term 'tram', damn it!!
Crikey, Joe, you coulda been killed taking that shot. Driver's not even lookin where he's goin!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely way to get around town. Wish we had some vintage trams in operation here.

ReplyDeleteI love trams, don't have so many of them in the UK, certainly not here in the south

ReplyDeleteI like the night shot treatment, with the additional colors of the lights. And the front-on view gives your image impact. Neat image Joe!
