Hi V's ... During our walk through the rain in Fitzroy last Sunday we found ourselves in Moor Street just off Brunswick Street and came across an open yard containing this aerodynamic, silver food van surrounded by vintage outdoor furniture and the oddest "artwork". Beyond lay a cavernous cafe to which we were welcomed. It was decked out with an eclectic mix of wrought iron, timber and vinyl chairs and an array of different shaped, sparsely spaced tables. It was a feast for they eyes with tablecloths bearing Barack Obama's image, barbie dolls adorning the ceiling, decorated mannequins in the corner and more. Random posts of some of the decor will be posted here over the coming weeks. The owners are delightful. This is Bohemian Melbourne with Quirk at its best. Drop in for a meal, a drink and a visual feast whenever you are in the area. Ciao J.

Nice shot! I like the old Airstream and the reflections on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun encounter. That vintage Airstream looks like it's in really good shape. Would bring a very pretty price here.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful quirky place Joe ... I'm sure I would love it ... Isn't it great to chance upon foodie places with a difference..
ReplyDeleteBut was the food good Joe, that's the main thing haha!
