Oh my! How on earth did you get that close to him! That is a fabulous portrait with exquisite colors. We have brown pelicans here but nothing with the size and color range of this pelican!
Superb photo guys, I'm also from Melbourne, and love checking out the big peli's at Jells Park lake near my work at lunchtime, and my local Kakarook Park lake most evenings. Amazing birds... and amazing surfers too! Seeing them glide across waves is one of the smoothest things I've witnessed! Andrew
Magnificent!
ReplyDeleteThe colours on Percy pelican are just amazing Joe, looks like the lines have been painted in. Fabulous close up!

Thanks Genie. The pelican came within a couple of metres of us and the zoom lens a bit of cropping helped.
DeleteFabulous work!
ReplyDeleteExcellent detail of line and color... almost like an abstract. Cool shot Joe!
ReplyDeleteWow what a nice shot! I think he could take many muffins in his bag.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
What a good and colourful model you found!
ReplyDeleteProbably he was thinking (about your muffin): Don't you have a bigger one? :)
Wow! What a great shot Joe.
ReplyDeleteThis is just amazing, I love it! As many other photos of yours.
