Hi V ... We had an argument with Beverley on Saturday night. She is normally accurate, prompt and efficient but not so on the weekend. She ignored us as usual remaining her usual detached and patient self. "Beverley" is our GPS. Our aim was to drive approximately 25 kilometres across suburban Melbourne and, silly me, entrusted the directions to "Beverley". The journey should have taken us around 40 minutes but it took an hour and a half. In her wisdom "Beverley" decided to take us through the busiest route possible. We were heading to a friends place for dinner bearing a bottle of pinot noir and crackers so if we didn't make it we would have been right. No Pinot for Beverley though. "Why the duck?" you ask. Wouldn't it be nice if driving on the roads was always this peaceful. Quack J.
Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteI've certainly experienced dodgy GPS routes before! Hope you were deemed 'better late than never!'

Pretty mallard duck, but Beverly's behaviour's quite mean! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThere's a fellow Australian who blogs from Vienna who has quite a way with duck pictures.
Haha! Moral of the story..never trust a GPS named Beverly!! But if she was the catalyst for this image Joe, then I say bravo Beverly!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful story, and terrific shot of the duck. Perfect title too (it was one of my favorite Hardy novels back in the old days)
