If you take a drive along the Great Ocean Road the Cape Otway Lighthouse is a must. www.lightstation.com tells me it is the oldest, surviving lighthouse in mainland Australia. The light has been in continuous operation since 1848 i.e. 166 years. It stands on towering sea cliffs where Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean collide. Ships Ahoy. Photo courtesy of daughter of J.
Perfect composition Daughter-of-J. leading our eyes down to the subject and beyond.
ReplyDeleteThe Great Ocean Road does offer so much. Wonderful shot by your daughter.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that it's still operational; lots of our lighthouses are now 'surplus to requirements'.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI bet this has been a welcome sight for many a captain out to sea Joe!
