Dear V ... During Open House Weekend at the end of July this year
I found myself at the Donkey Wheel House, a 120 year old building
at 673 Bourke Street. This is it's elevator shaft.
Think I'll take the stairs ... J.
This is HUGE compared to my most recent experience in Paris. With 2 small rollerboards, I had to balance one on top of the other and not breathe to fit. (I am not big - hah)
Love the castellations above the door. It's a wonder that it doesn't have a portcullis and drawbridge too!
ReplyDeleteI hope 'V' enjoys 'J's' notes as much as I do Joe, this lift reminds me of one I came across in a little hotel in Paris, enough said.!!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty amazing Joe!

Better looked at than ridden in, I agree! Well shot though Joe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful reminder of another era Joe. Think I would take the stairs also!
