Hi V ... This is Point Ormond on the Elwood foreshore. Spectacular sunsets grace the point and have inspired scenes in film such as "On The Beach" and "Man of Flowers". The Point has a colourful history. In 1840 it was the site of St Kilda's first graveyard and a quarantine station following the arrival typhoid on a barque from Scotland called the Glen Huntly. Nice shot, interesting structure-looks like some sort of daybeacon. Nice light:)
ReplyDeleteAmazing colours.

From the thumbnail, I thought the white thing might feature in a science fiction movie about aliens...
ReplyDeleteI agree that the colours are just gorgeous!!
What an awesome shot Joe! Really gorgeous. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis could pass for a book cover, the colour is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteA very disturbing presence on the horizon, but the population is unconcerned.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot Joe, it's got a sort of 'surreal' feel to it!
ReplyDeleteNice one... Used to live in Elwood a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteAnother nicely processed image, Joe. I cycled past here many times during my year in melbs.
