Hi V ... This is the Perseverance Hotel in Brunswick Street Fitzroy. Its condition seems emblematic of its name. It may be tenuous but both the name and the angle of the photograph seems a good introduction into Tuesday nights (19/6) news. Some of you may have heard that much of Victoria was rocked by an earthquake shortly before 9pm last night. There are no reports of significant damage. The quake was significant in Victorian terms being the largest to hit the State in 109 years. The Global Disaster Alert and Co-ordination System (GDACS) recorded it as a magnitude 5.5 with an epicentre around 9.9 kms deep (very shallow) near Narracan approx 120 kms north of Melbourne. Houses in the Melbourne and metropolitan area shook, goods fell from supermarket shelves and social media was abuzz. Cheers J.
