Hi V ... This is Parliament House in Spring Street Melbourne. Construction of the building began in 1855 and it was completed in stages between 1856 and 1929 i.e. 73 years! Wikipedia tells me that the classical colonnade and portico which gives the building its monumental character was added in the 1880's during the height of the Victorian gold rush. Fitting that at night it is bathed in light which in this photograph appears golden. The last addition to the building was the refreshment room in 1929. Gee .. hope they didn't have to wait 73 years for a cup of coffee. Cheers J.
I do like the golden bath of light, and the beautiful night mood. It is an impressive looking facade Joe.
