Hi V ... This is one of two car ferries which cross Port Philip Bay from Sorrento to Queenscliff every hour 7 days a week. It's great for a day trip or as part of a larger road trip. A pod of dolphins which live in the bay can often been seen cresting the waves alongside the vessel. A smaller timber boat used to ferry passengers between the two seaside towns. I doubt if it is still in operation. I remember travelling on it many years ago and feeling so close to the dolphins that I could almost touch them as they toyed with the boat and its passengers. Cheers J.
The Queenscliff to Sorrento ferry is a great trip... and saves so much time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic ride, especially with the dolphins so close!
ReplyDeleteLike the way you have edited this shot Joe. Looks great and as I did not know about this ferry ride, will add it to my Melbourne "to do" list. Sounds like it could be a great ride.
ReplyDeleteVery clever composition Joe, very striking image..white and blue with touch of red always works so well.
