Hi V ... This gilt lion bathed in gold is above the Vice-Regal Chair in the Upper House of the Victorian Parliament. He appears to be reclining. Don't let him fool you. It's just the angle of the shot. He is standing on his hind legs, front paws resting on a shield containing the Royal Coat of Arms. Cheers J.
