Hi V ... This is David Jones in the Bourke Street Mall on a rainy day. As suggested by the tiling above the canopy it used to be "Buckley & Nunn". The term "Buckley & Nunn" can still be heard on occasions to describe a zero chance e.g. "What are the chances of no rain today?" .... "Buckley & Nunn" ... Cheers J |
I like the exaggerated angle on this to point out the original shop's name, and a amusing historical/social footnote too.

Great angle. That's very interesting about the Il Porcellino copy on the Isle of Wight. It makes me wonder whether there are any other copies around the world.
ReplyDeleteNice angle on this one Joe and lovely wet reflections too! We're forecast for rain tomorrow, but I think we have buckley's chance haha!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflection here Joe. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Great when we get rain as I love the reflections on the street surface.
ReplyDeleteI still use this expression, my kids look at me like I am crazy!
ReplyDeleteThe story is hilarious and the photo is great.
