As the gate keeper gazed out of the window of the terminal house his eyes settled on the tapered lighthouse atop of pylons. He recalled a footbridge that connected the tower to the shore. He remembered a green light that once marked the centre of the channel. Although shabby and isolated it still stands proud, a reminder of an era long gone. |
