Hi V ... Pictured above is Station Pier, Port Melbourne. It was the first port of call for many immigrants to Melbourne. Decades ago a doughnut van used to park on the very spot from where this photograph was taken and it was a weekend ritual of ours to park our cars here, buy some doughnuts and solve the problems of the world. Good Times J. Linking to Outdoor Wednesday.
A nice place to be - even without the doughnut van. I bet the immigrants were glad to hit dry land too.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo ~ donuts sound delish ~thanks, namaste, ^_^ linked w/ Outdoor Wednesday

ReplyDeleteThis is where some of my ancestors would have disembarked when they immigrated to Australia ... They were heading fo make their fortune on the
ReplyDeleteVictorian gold-fields. I guess there was no doughnut van in those days.
Ah, yes! This is where my family and I arrived in Melbourne in 1969! Hasn't changed much :-)
ReplyDeleteThe blues in your photo look cold. Great shot. Blessings, debbie
ReplyDeleteI also find that donuts are a great aid in solving problems, and croissants..and cupcakes, I'm sure you see where I'm heading with this Joe.
