Malta George Cross - 70th Anniversay

Hi Visitors ... Malta was awarded the George Cross by King George VI in a letter dated 15 April 1942.  It read "To  honour her brave people, I award the George Cross to the Island Fortress of Malta to bear witness to a heroism and devotion that will long be famous in history. Signed George R.I."  Above are some of the participants in a commemoration which took place in the King's Domain Gardens  in Melbourne yesterday. The King's Domain are the home of a memorial statue to King George V previously pictured on this blog.  Solemn J.
