The Croft Institute in Croft Lane

Hi V .. This is one of the artworks on the wall of Croft Lane which we stumbled on over the weekend.  Croft Lane is a narrow, grimy lane lined with dumpsters and the back doors of CBD retailers and cafes.  It was late when we discovered Croft Lane and we didn't venture to the red glow at the end.  I believe the red light marks the entrance of a wine bar called "The Croft Institute".  A review by "Next Studio" at "Foursquare" reads "Any bar that's themed as a science lab gets the nerd stamp of approval. Sample boutique, micro brewed beer while you dissect a frog!" I suspect the review has been just a tad embellished.  Think I will venture back. Contributed to Mural Monday.

  1. Love the artwork, Joe, but like the commentary better. Melbourne lanes are quite different to Sydney alleys ...

  6. I definitely think you should go back Joe, then you can fill us in but if there's any frog dissecting going on, I don't want to know right!!

  7. Wow, what a cool find. This portrait in incredible right down to the reflection in his glasses. And to think it was done with spray cans. I like his face with that hint of smile. This is one guy I would not be afraid to meet in an alley, I mean, lane. As for the red light, go for it, Joe, and then tell us what it's really like behind the door. Thanks for being part of this week's Monday Mural.
