Hi V ... The Federation Bells is a set of 39 brass bells located at Birrarung Marr alongside the Yarra in Melbourne. They were created for celebrations of the centenary of Australia's Federation in 2001. The bells have their own interactive website which can be used to create your very own composition. Original compositions up to five minutes in length are invited and all will actually be played on the bells. Wow! Prizes will be awarded including $2,000 cash and entrance into a composition course. Entries close on 29 July 2012. So whether you are a novice or professional composer go ahead and "Ring Those Bells".

Such a beautiful, creative addition to the cityscape! Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteThese are good fun - my kids like them, but I'm not sure they make anything that could be called music!
