It's all about the best vantage point when finding a spot to view the fireworks on New Years Eve. For some it is among the throngs in the heart of the city for others it's a deck chair on a distant pier. Happy New Year to one and all from Mr & Mrs J.
I have featured this boat ramp many times on my blog and thought it was an appropriate entry for the City Daily Photo "Photo of the Year" theme. Entries from around the world can be viewed here.

For me it was staying up to watch the 1945 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "State Fair" and then listening to traditional Irish music
ReplyDeleteIt seems you've found your place too!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Joe! ;-)
Have a great one! Is it here where you saw them from?
ReplyDeleteYes its all about location, location, location on firework night :) all the very best for 2014 to Mrs J and yourself, looking forward to a new years worth of fabulous Melbourne images Joe..
ReplyDeleteInteresting contrast of the structure of the foreground and back ground. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove this image. Something about the light is really compelling.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Perfect vantage point :).
ReplyDeleteSeems a bit early to settle down for the fireworks but it's true that the best vantage spots get taken early. I remember people setting up their picnic chairs early afternoon in Sydney!
ReplyDeleteI love the soft pink and blue light in your photo as well as the beautiful city skyline. What a beautiful city you live in. I wish you a very happy year 2014!
Great view, for sure.
