William Butterfield was the architect for St Paul's Cathedral down there on the right. It's foundation stone was laid in 1880 only 135 years ago. I wonder what he would have said if he could see the Melbourne CBD now?
What a remarkable juxta-position you show us. But Mr Butterfield can rest content in the knowledge that the cathedral will still be there when all the other buildings have been replaced.

ReplyDeleteWell, it certainly was't something he could envision, especially that colorful Lego-block building in the foreground. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Joe!

ReplyDeleteThe cathedral looks so small among all those high rise buildings!
ReplyDeleteI agree with John. The classic will last and the lego blocks will eventually be replaced.
ReplyDeleteYes definitely, the cathedral is there to stay.. This is an amazing image Joe, shows the size and building density of your city beautifully.
