INVASION OF THE FRUIT BAT


We were quite surprised when we entered the atrium at Federation Square a few weekends to find an invasion of fruit bats above our heads. We discovered it was "Batmania", an artwork by sculptor Kathy Holowko.  Now what did Batman say "Holy Catastrophe!"

    Those are some big bats. We have a bat cave near us where thousands of bats fly out every evening to go in search for mosquitoes and such, some Mexican bat. Saw a presentation on them once by a ranger.

    We see bats from time to time here but they are not so plentiful as these, and miniscule by comparison.
