Of Droughts and Flooding Rains

Hi V ... This illustration  by William Kentridge is currently hanging at Federation Square (Flinders Street,
Melbourne). It reminded me of the flooding currently being experienced in towns in northern Victoria.
I hope that the waters quickly recede and the clean up can begin in earnest. J.

  1. Your caption says it all Joe ..... Our country is either in the midst of drought or deluged with an over- abundance of rain.

  2. Hi J,
This painting is sobering. I too hope the flooding will stop soon and the people can get their lives back in order. Drought, floods, both devastating.

  3. Wow. That's an original water shot... I, too, hope that the rain will stop soon and that the water will recede quickly. Enough's enough.

  4. Great capture Joe and so appropriate for what is being experienced in Victoria and elsewhere in the country.

  6. I hope so too Joe, this image is perfect for what's going on right now. So much water over there and so little over here, crazy!!

  7. Impressive drawing, even without the local weather reference. Weather does seem to be more intensely one thing or another lately. Last year we had epic rains all winter; this year next to nothing. Because the resevoirs are still full from last year, they are not calling for water conservation yet. Seems a little short sighted.
