HMB Endeavour in Melbourne

Hi V ... The HMB Endeavour,  a replica of the ship that Captain James Cook sailed on his discovery voyage of The Pacific enters the Yarra and approaches the CBD.  A very different view than that which would have greeted the original crew.  Cheers J.

  1. And even now it's the contrast between the ship and the view which captures the eye. We had a Captain Cook replica moor at Weymouth, on the Dorset coast of England, a few years ago. I'm wondering if this is the same one and it's re-created the journey or whether there are lots of Endeavours around the world.

  3. Fantastic! We went on the tour of this ship when we visit Sydney 4 years ago. I can so remember how cramped it was below decks. Great to see it in action!!!!!

  4. Can you imagine the adventure it was travelling to the unknown?
The view may be different, but it is beautiful anyway. :)

  8. Hi Mr and Mrs J. The picture is actually of the Tall Ship Enterprize, the Ship that is credited with bringing the first white people to found the settlement that became known as Melbourne. Enterprize is based in Docklands and you can book on sails around Port Phillip Bay and beyond.
